Social Coaches are extraordinary people, doing extraordinary things, delivering extraordinary impact, exploiting the extraordinary potential of the community and city.
Social Coaches engage, motivate and inspire groups of 14-19 year old young people, predominantly working with disaffected young people from disadvantaged communities, by preparing, leading and reviewing bespoke sport, art, cultural or technological based development programmes.
We are looking for extraordinary individuals drawn from all walks of life, backgrounds, beliefs, faiths and identities who have strong emotional intelligence, common sense and life skills. You will be trained to engage, motivate and inspire groups of 14-19 year olds to develop projects around healthy and active lifestyles and fulfilling potential.
Successful candidates will be working in the Etihad Campus, East Manchester or Birley Campus, Hulme and Moss Side. You must be willing to commit to a programme of development with a minimum of 2.5 hours per week. In return you get to work on a truly ground breaking project that will make a real difference to all involved. All adults (18 years +) are welcome to apply and and will be selected following our selection criteria.
To be considered as a Social Coach, you will be either currently working with or have an interest in working with young people. Alternatively, you will be engaged in training as a precursor to a career in sports, arts or leisure. You will also need to have an empathy and desire for developing young people, and a commitment to continued personal and professional development.
